Borda Molí dels Fanals | Restaurante Típico en Andorra

History

The Molí dels Fanals was born in Andorra la Vella by Bellsolà family in early May 1995, in an old mill whose former owner had already converted it into a restaurant.

The original use of the building which now houses the restaurant ( a molí – mill) and the grazing grass that used to grow in the surrounding fields (fanals) are the basis of this consolidated Andorran brand (the Molí dels Fanals). Six years later, on May 1st, 2001, and following the non-renewal of the rental agreement, the restaurant was moved to the Molí dels Fanals, our current location in Sispony.

A privileged spot in a mountain village oozing authenticity and overlooking the valley. Thus, at the Molí, we still delight our diners, now in an old borda dating from the end of the 19th century (1877 to be more precise). The building that used to house grass-fed animals on its ground floor and a straw loft on the upper floor is now one of the leading restaurants for Andorran gastronomy.

Since early 2014, Francesc Guillen takes over as head of the business, bringing a breath of fresh air while maintaining the authenticity that since the beggining has characterized the Moli dels Fanals.

We have opted for mountain cuisine throughout our career, serving home-made dishes which are the fruit of the marriage between the cuisine of the Catalan Pyrenees and that of France. A menu that has been evolving over the years, but which has always prized the quality of the raw material as a key factor, together with the authenticity of each of our dishes.
